Tour in Cairns: Rafting the rapids of the wild Tully river

Duration: 12 часов

from 200.00 pp

Some of the most thrilling and scenic whitewater trips in the world are offered at Tully Gorge National Park only 140 km from Cairns.

The Tully River is Australia's best and most famous one-day white water rafting experience.

The Tully region is famous a spectacular Wet Tropics environment (4.4 m of rainfall per year) with fast-flowing river rapids and dramatic falls. Surrounded by World Heritage rainforest rock, the Tully River plunges 300m down the gorge, rushes over rocks and boulders at breakneck speed, forming an ideal whitewater rafting course and creating a series of spectacular cascades.

Departing daily from Cairns at 6.30am, travelling about 2,5 hours to the upper gorge of the Tully River, your trained and experienced guides will offer you all the tuition needed to enjoy approximately 5 hours of 12 km white water rafting - including a safety briefing, paddling techniques, what to do if you fall out of the raft and how to create the best splash in the water wars against the other rafts.

There will be a maximum of 6 people in the raft plus the guide and a maximum of 6 rafts on the water with you. The Tully River is graded rapids up to 4.

Rapids include the unforgettable 'Alarm Clock', 'Wet and Moisty', 'Stair Case' and the dramatic 'Theatre' - all before a riverside BBQ lunch opposite a beautiful 'Ponytail Falls' where time is made to replenish your batteries before the afternoon's remaining rapids.

All you need to bring is lace-up shoes (that WILL get wet), swim suit and towel (you will need to be wearing your swim suit at the time of pick up), a spare change of clothes and don't forget the 15+ sunscreen.

You will be provided with safety equipment, including life jacket, helmet and spray jacket.
