Lena Smirnova is a professional guide in Australia and the director of Way to Australia and Beyond (ACN 148 087 754). She studied international relations in Moscow, and then tourism and business at a polytechnic university in New Zealand, where she lived for six years and began her career in tourism with Harvey World Travel in Christchurch. She has lived in Australia since 2000, and her experience as a travel agent ranges from corporate clients and multi-month round-the-world journeys for well-off Australian clients to group tours of Australia, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Guiding became a second profession and a calling. Combining the two roles gives her a unique ability to make any trip faultless in organisation and programme, to suit every taste and budget.
