Lady Elliot Island
Lady Elliot Island is a coral cay located at the southern tip of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef.
Situated within a highly protected 'Green Zone' the coral cay is a sanctuary for over 1,200 species of marine life and is known for its abundance of manta rays, turtles, amazing array of spectacular marine life and unspoilt coral reef.
The Day Trips/Tours to Lady Elliot Island offer a great opportunity for domestic or international visitors with limited time to explore Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Lady Elliot Island is located on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, 80km north-east of Bundaberg, just to the north of Fraser Island. Although we do recommend a minimum of 2 nights on Lady Elliot Island to truly experience this unique Island paradise, the Day Trips/Tours will allow visitors to experience one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World from the air, land and water… all in one day!
Being a coral cay, Lady Elliot Island is actually part of the Great Barrier Reef and is regarded as one of the best snorkelling destinations on the reef with an amazing array of colourful marine life. Day trips to Lady Elliot Island include return scenic flights to the Island, orientation tour, a glass bottom boat/guided snorkelling tour, snorkel equipment (mask, snorkel & fins), full use of day guest facilities, a hot and cold buffet lunch and an afternoon of snorkelling, leisure or joining our experienced guides for a guided activity/tour.
Snorkelling and Diving is a great way to get up close and personal with the amazing marine life and explore the wonders of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Snorkelling on the reef surrounding Lady Elliot island is easily accessible straight off the beaches or book on to one of our daily glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tours or snorkel safaris.
Self-guided beach snorkelling is an activity that you can participate in throughout the day (subject to conditions).
Depending on your level of experience, you can choose from the Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced snorkel trails.
Lady Elliot Island offers a diverse diving experience with 20 incredible dive sites around the island which are easily accessible by boat dives, please see Dive Map. At Lady Elliot Island, our experienced Dive staff personally escort all dives, we schedule a minimum of two dives per day and optional night dives available subject to numbers and weather conditions. Our PADI Dive Shop offers courses to cater for all levels of experience.
Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort offers a range of comfortable accommodation options, with each Unit, Tent and Cabin designed to minimise impact on the Island while enriching the overall guest experience of the environment and seasonal wildlife. In keeping with the natural, eco-friendly practices there are no telephones, television, radios or Wi-Fi available in the rooms. Limited Wi-fi available in the restaurant.
