Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is Australia's third-largest island and only a half-hour flight from Adelaide.
The visitor has the option of a coach/ferry/coach connection with a return to Adelaide taking approximately 6½ hours, or a shorter day trip flying both ways.
The island offers a near-perfect mix of surf, stunning white sandy beaches, plunging cliffs, offshore reefs plus lots of native wildlife. Thanks to the island's isolation from the mainland and the lack of predators such as dingoes and foxes, there is an abundance of easily approachable wildlife.
In virtually undisturbed bush the visitor will be able to see kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, emus, goannas, echidnas and a large variety of seabirds plus the unique Australian sea lions.
Kangaroo Island provides a rare opportunity to experience the diversity of the Australian wilderness all in one relatively small location.
