Hastings Caves
These underground caves are believed to have been formed more than 40 million years ago, but only discovered as recently as 1917 by timber workers.
The most famous of the caves is Newdegate Cave, one of only two dolomite caves open to visitors in Australia.

Hastings Caves State Reserve lies 120 km from Hobart in the south of Tasmania, and is a natural diamond of the island. Your trip begins with a short 30-minute introduction to Hobart (optional), with the famous Salamanca Place, the historic Battery Point (1830) and lookouts over the port city.
